An American in Paris

Paris!  That beguiling melting pot of culture which has inspired artists of all nationalities for generations with it’s romance and charm.  Jonathan Levin takes you on a musical voyage to Paris and beyond, exploring the vast musical influences of this magical city on musical artists from the romantic generation to the present.   The program includes timeless favorites of Debussy, Liszt and Chopin as well as a thrilling solo piano arrangement by Levin of George Gershwin’s masterpiece of the same name.

American Portraits

The program captures glimpses of America through some of our most beloved music, including the premieres of virtuosic solo arrangements by Jonathan Levin based on tunes from the Great American Songbook - songs by Rogers and Hart, Jerome Kern and Cole Porter.  Audiences will also hear works by great masters of American concert music still living today, like the music of George T. Walker and William Bolcom.  The concert will conclude with George Gershwin’s immortal Rhapsody in Blue which Gershwin himself arranged for solo piano.

Night of the Living Composers!

Jonathan Levin treats listeners to a rousing collection of some of the most horrible works for the piano, in the best sense of the word of course!   This fun Halloween themed program includes famous numbers featured in horror movies and other pieces which have themes associated with menace in some way. Composers and compositions include music by Franz Liszt, J. S. Bach's famous Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and more.
